belli challenge #10

The challenge is to use chalk.

I used it on the vellum believe . Scribbed with a watermarker pen on the back and then rubbed it with chalk.
I used DCWV paper.
Put eyelets in the corners.

Saltfaith challenge

Believe!

I made a bookmark for this challenge.

Faith requires belief.

Luke 9:18-20

Once when Jesus was praying in private and his disciples were with him, he asked them "Who do the crowds say I am?"

They replied, "Some say John the Baptist, others say Elijah. and still others that one of the prophets of long ago has come back to life"

But what about you?" he asked. "Who do you say I am?"

Peter answered, "The Christ of God."

The bookmark I made from felt and hand stitched a blanket stitch around it, and the flower petals.

On the petals I used stazon ink to stamp the believe. And faith I stamped on a strip of felt

mojo monday sketch week 30

I knew I wanted to do a golf card, so what image to paint?

I came up with trees.

Started with a white card, and matted with a cloud paper, which I painted trees

on. Then layered the grass paper strip.

For the golfballs I used my copier and copied the golfballs

onto a white cardstock.

The focal tree is painted on vellum and adhered to the

cloud paper.

Mounted to the torn grass paper, with white brads in the corners.

One golfball I cut out and a foam square to pop it up.

Salt faith challenge

I found another blog challenge. It's at saltfaithchallenge.blogspot.com , check it out.

To be a princess to the King.

My card I would call simple elegance.
I used strung pearls, ribbon and handmade lace ,that I got at an antique store.
This would make a great wedding card, or even anniversary.
Lace is hard to photograph, it's so pretty and danty though. Just click on the photo to see it up close.

glitter challenge

Creating with Chrissy's blog has the challenge to get messy with glitter. Hope it counts if it's glitter paint.

I used the glitter to outline the butterfly and for the flower centers. Also put a glittery ladybug on a flower petal.
With red thread I sewed the sides and top of the card.
It's still kind of plain though. I'll probably add a sentiment to it.
The glitter paint is scribbles 3D paint.
Flowers are purple and white acrylic paint. Butterfly purple and engine red paint.
The butterfly isn't as dark as the photo shows, bad lighting.
Chrissyd723.blogspot.com check it out, she has fun challenges to try each week.

lunchtime sketch

This card I started with a red 9x4 card.

Not a size I make often.

The sketch is from Technostamper blog. It looks difficult , but it's not once you start.
Used orange mesh for the center 31/4" square then layered a 21/4 " orange square with a 2" red square.
The balloons I painted then cut out a used foam dots to adhere to the center panel.
The side triangles are the orange mesh 31/4" square cut in half, layered with a orange 11/4" and a red 11/8" squares. Painted balloons on those squares, and foam dots to adhere them.
Added 4 red brads to the center points.
And red raffia tied to the top of the card, and a bow of red raffia for the balloons.
I didn't like all the red so I cut out four triangles of the orange CS to use as the panels on the card.
I may be trying this size card more often, it was fun.

Mojo monday week 29

Another fun sketch over at poeticartistry.blogspot.com
Started with a white card , with an orange panel.
Painted confetti in the 2 corners, then sewed the edges of the card.
Put a red strip under the orange and white strip and sewed those edges also.
Used the celebrate stamp from SU, used red paint to stamp it.
The balloons I painted separately and the cut out and used foam dots for dimension.
Simple card, but I like simple.

belli challenge #8 FLOWER POWER

I found another card challenge over at Chrissyd723 blog. Creating with Chrissy has for a challenge to use flower embellishments. I used my paper flowers that I just had to get, and there they sat on the shelf of my desk.
Started with a white card, that I painted the edges with Yellow citron acrylic and with a foam brush lightly brushed on the card. Stamped the Happy Mother's Day then painted the slide mount with the yellow citron. Used crystals on the slide mount and for the center of the paper flowers.
And there's my flower power card, an explosion of color.

springtime

Can you tell I've been thinking spring? Another daisy card. This daisy I cut out and pop dotted

to the bottom strip.

The strips are white with daisy paper by SU and the

SU ribbon wrapped around the strip. I distressed the edges of the strips with a distress tool. It's a razor that you run along the edges to rough them up.

And of course had to paint on the cute ladybug.

This would be a sweet Mother's day card.

DAISIES

I added the cute little ladybug to the daisies. Green eyelets in the corners of the flower. double matted white and yellow. And the green magic mesh on the bottom.

This card reminds me of Minnie Mouse.

The polka dots is a vellum paper over the red card with white brads to adhere it in the corners.
I also double matted this flower with red and yellow CS.
On the daisies I outlined the petals to make them pop. The color I used was yellow ochre.

TULIPS

The stamp 'have faith' is from Sweet 'n Sassy stamps.

I painted two extra tulips. These cards I used Julee's sketch idea, I really like the sketch layout. I've had this red mesh for a few years in my stash , so it was time to use it. On both cards I used the yellow mulberry paper.

Mojo Monday sketch challenge week 27

Another sketch challenge I was working on is the tulip card. The tulip is a Liz's original painting and then I cut it out and adhered it to the card.

DP is Colorbok

yellow brads

yellow lace

yellow mulberry paper

red CS

This is such a cool sketch and I though the tulip would work great with the longer panel in the sketch. I like the results, will it win ,I hope so.
The sketch was a challenge, I changed colors and embellishments many times. The important thing is do I like it, and I do so I'll be off to submit it.

Lunchtime sketch challenge #7

This is a CTMH stamp set I used. But I did it with acrylic paints. Painted in the balloons and happy birthday with a script liner brush, and then added the dots with the tip of the brush.
Those are blue brads on the yellow strips of CS.
The square edges I painted with the blue paint.
And adhered them with pop dots

painted by Liz Miller
