Dragonfly purses

For this week the emBELLIshment challenge is to use gel pens.

I used a purple gel pen to outline the dragonfly wings and dots for the tails.

The body is three jewels. And added some jewels for embellishments.
Used ribbon for the purse handles. And rounded the corners of the purse
using a punch .
The paper is reversable by Colorbok.
It was a 12x12 paper.
Cut it in a 51/2 strip and then scored at 41/4 and then scored for the flap.

Fantastic Friday Ribbon Challenge

For the Fantastic Friday challenge at Inkydoodle.blogspot.com Korin wanted us to use ribbon with NO KNOT OR BOWS . So what I did was use a sheer ribbon to make sea weed on this fish card. I cut the top edge of the ribbon at a slant and then sewed it to the cardand twisted it as I was sewing to give it more texture. I like how it turned out. Thanks Korin for a great challenge, so we think outside the box.
The fish is a Liz's original painting.

paper piercing challenge # 18

Chrissyd723.blogspot.com has a challenge to paper pierce.
I don't even have that tool , but instead used a push pin tack.
The paper DCWV has the floral design in the paper, so I paper
pierced the white image. From the photo it's hard to see, just
click on it to enlarge it.
I've been wanting to paint a penguin for awhile, so here it is .
Rounded the corners on the image and added some jewels.
I was a winner for the challenge last week. YAY ! Check out Chrissy's blog,
give it a try. She has fun challenges each week.

FORE THE GOLFER

Some golf cards. Was trying some sketch challenges, but just couldn't get them right ,so
I switched them up and came up with these three cards.
The greens and the golf balls I painted. Also painted the golf club.

I like my cute golf guy stamp. I got the stamp in a great stamp shop in California
when visiting my sis.
The glare on the bottom two cards is from the protective cover on them.

mojo monday week 38

This sketch uses Julee's sketch challenge at Poeticartistry.blogspot.com

The thanks is a wordsworth stamp, I like the lettering from this stamp set.

The flower I had painted earlier and thought it was a good image for this sketch
challenge.
I like the browns and blues together.
I stamped the thanks and then cut it out into the oval, and cut the flower petals
that were covered by the oval ,so I could layer them on top of the oval.

Fantastic Friday Challenge

This card I used Korin's sketch at Inkydoodle.blogspot.com
To paint the butterfly I used white and mauve. Outlined the butterfly with
the brown and using the handle of the paint brush made the dots on
the butterfly and the accents on the card
Brown ribbon also accents the card front.
I have to work on my lighting to take my pictures, sorry about that.

FELT, FLOSS , SEQUINS

This was a card kit I picked up at Hobby Lobby Store.
I thought it would be great to make Father's Day cards for my Father-in-law
and my husband. Every thing was in the kit(felt, sequins, floss, 3 cards and envelopes
All I needed to buy was some felt glue .

the pieces had to be cut out of the felt, but the pattern was printed on it, so not
hard at all. I like the the finished project, sorry the photo isn't good to show all
the details. If you click on the card you can see it up close.
The sequins I stitched on and then did some stitching on the water and fish. But
all that info was with the kit with diagrams.
I still have the other two cards to finish, I'll post them later.

SALT FAITH CHALLENGE

For this challenge it's with contentment.
To be content with what I have.
But what do I do ?
I'll wine, complain, and envy.
I put this picture of my great niece to put a picture of contentment.
No wining, fussing, crying, just content and happy.
She has all she needs: love , food , shelter
I love these challenges they make me think about my life
,but more importantly they make me think about God in my life.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

Mojm Monday week 36

This card sketch is from Julee at Poeticartistry.blogspot.com
Started with the turquoise card sanded the edges.
Added the four background panels and zigzaged the edges.
Stamped the image on the turquoise CS, layered and sanded the edges
Put the back panel and layered with a DP stamped the image again on
that DP , so the image runs off the top layer.
Stamped the lower panel with the seashells using a watermark ink
Added brown ribbon to the panel . Clear embossed the sanddollar for an accent, then
added a glossy 3-D accent to the outer part of the sand dollar. Also added the glossy 3-D accent to the lighthouse.
Finally stitched the corners of the image layer.

Used CTMH stamps
Glossy accents by Inkssentials

This project I did in memory of my Mom and Dad. Their wedding day photo is slipped into a clear frame. Then mounted to a piece of chip board, which I painted. Mounted the chip board to a base my Dad had made. The crocheted granny square my Mom crocheted, I sewed pearls to the edge of the square. Then painted some rose buds on the chip board. Cut out a painted rose and leaves and pop dot adhered .

This is for a fantistic friday challenge at Inkydoodle.blogspot.com.

FOR THE GRAD

Have some grads in the family, so this goes in the mail soon.
Used gold vellum for the strip and the bottom oval.
Then cut a smaller oval out of navy CS.
Gold embossed the tassel on the oval, and on a seperate navy CS piece gold embossed the cap.
Which I cut out and used a pop dot to adhere.

Simple, I like simple.
