ROSE / HUMMINGBIRD

Got another painting in before I head out on my trip.

May be one of the last post for about 5 weeks.

Please come back though to see what pretty things I'll be painting from my trip to Spain.
Mounted the painting on a burgundy CS
Double matted the burgundy card front.
CS is from Stampin' Up
The patterned paper is also SU.
I use acrylic paints by Folk Art.

BABY ROBIN

The magazine I got has 9 bird designs, so had to try another.

This I used a stampin'up paper to mount the painting on.
I do enjoy painting, and have to get it out of my system, because I'm taking a trip
and will be gone for 5 weeks away from my passion.
But I'll replace it with enjoying nature and sketching some of the nature I see.

Tanager & Orange Blossoms

I transfered the bird and blossoms onto the watercolor paper.

Then took the brushes and paints and had fun.

I love the results.

Mounted on the peach paper

and put on the card front.

Pretty enough to frame.

scallops

For the belli challenge we needed to use scallops.

My card is using the scalloped scissors for the top edge.

At the side of the image are half circles.

Yes Chris that's the Stampin' Up patterned paper, it's great. Thank you!
I sanded the edges of the paper
The image is a painted flower with the cute ladybugs added.
A shear white ribbon finishes off the card.

ladybugs and moose

This is also using a verve sketch
Daisies and lady bugs. This is using a verve sketch
The daisies are painted using yellow and brown . The ladybugs are dotted on with the tip of the brush handle. Black dots are added with a marker. Added a dimensional clear to the lady bugs and flower centers.

I've had this moose stamp (Stampin' Up) for quite awhile and don't use it often.

Saw some cards made up using a similar stamp , so thought I'ld use it . stamped it with olive ink

The grass and trees are painted on with a moss paint.

Attached the discover embellishment with brads.

christmas cards

Started with the ivory card. punched out 1/4" squares and glued those to the edges of the card.
The image is a copy of an old postcard I purchased at an antique store. Making copies of the original I can make more cards with the postcard.
Tied a red ribbon to the circle clip and clipped it to the edge of the image.

Stampendous stamp using black ink. I then stamped the 'tiny babe, prince of peace' on another

paper and cut the image out , using pop dots adhered that over the stamped image.

Highlighted with blue paint to the cutout.

Used watercolor pencils and colored in the Christ child and manger.

Adding a gemstone to the star.

Sewed this to a red panel.
Put on a yellow panel and an ivory card.

wedding card

This card layout is from the summer 2008 Stampers' Sampler Take Ten Magazine

I used a stamp sentiment that would fit for a wedding. Mounted the sentiment
with black paper , sanded the edges. Attached it with copper brads.
Put a skelton leaf behind it.
And also adding the strip of handmade paper behind.
Stamp is penny black
Torn card edge and applied copper ink to it. Stamped the sentiment with copper ink.
A simple and elegant card.

contain it challenge

I started with this altoids tin.
then added DCWV paper. The flower are from the paper, I cut them out and glued
and pop dotted the small ones.
I sanded the edges of the paper to show the white core.
Circles were punched out of the paper and glued to the sides of the tin

Stamped the 'for you ' on a punched out tag.
And added some leaves cut out from the paper.
I used glue so it would stick well to the tin
This would be a great container for a gift card.

merry christmas

this is a layout from the magazine-stampers'sampler take ten.
p.55
I liked the colors they used so I did the same.
You start with the brown card and stamp on a pink panel with brown ink. I inked the edges of the panel with the brown also.
The I took a clear dimensional and put it on the ornaments to raise them.
then tied the ribbon at the side .
also did paper piercing at the right corners.

from butterflies to snowmen

This butterfly is a painted Liz's original. Outlined it with gold pen. Mounted on a gold paper
The flower branch I painted to the card and added the clear dimentional to the buds. Added the paper strip and mounted it. And the 3 brads on the side. A top folded ivory card. Mounted with a green panel.

The snowman is paper pieces. I started with tracing the body onto white CS, then paper tore around the trace lines. Added the fabric scarf. The hat I traced onto a suede paper and cut that out. A side folded white card , stamped with (Close to my heart stamp) snowflakes, adding the stickles to them. And on the hat put a stickles pom-pom. With the sky blue ink pad applied to the edges of the snowman body and the edges of the card.
Paper tore the card side and added red CS behind it.
His nose is cut out from the orange CS.

fun with color

Black and pink, I like it!

Got some new papers at the book store and a new card making magazine.

That's where I saw this sketch and wanted to try it out.

Painted the flower and butterfly and then cut them out and used foam squares.

Two eyelets in the lower right corner.

And the pink rick-rack, make for a fun card.
