Hydrangea

While walking through the villages of Spain, there were many lovely gardens full of color.
Hydrangeas were so pretty with the gorgeous flowers.
So I picked the Hydrangea to paint, and while I painted it thought back to the beauty of Spain.
It was truely an incredible journey walking through northern Spain.

Is the overlapping effect from your painting technique or did you paint separate flowers and layers them? It's an awesome painting and I love the inspiration picture.

thanks.
I painted the florets in layers.
And I double load the brush with 2 sometimes 3 colors. Let's say I load the brush with purple and white. I could have white for the center, or flip the brush and have the purple for the center of the florets.

Liz - the picture is gorgeous - but this painted card is absolutely gorgeous - this looks sooo realistic! TFS!
