I did some embroidered flowers and sewing to make these cards. The top card I cut the flowers out of material. And zig-zagged them to the card. The leaves are also cut from material. The stem is using the stem stitch in embroidery.
This is the chain stitch. And the bottom material panel is chain stitched to the card front.
The border punch is used on the card edge, and a contrasting material strip is glued to the card inside edge.
I'm an artist, and have worked with different mediums. Paper, fibers, beads, and acrylics. Seven years ago, I got hooked on scrapbooking. Then from that did stamping and altered books. At present I'm creating hand painted greeting cards. I work with acrylics in painting the greeting cards. I was working at a scrap book store when I started scrapbooking. It was great because I saw the latest products when they came in. Altered Books I love because it really opens the door to my artistic abilities. In designing an altered book I work with paper, fibers, charms, beads, paints, fabric, and photos. I've made altered books with many themes. Such as gardening, faith, travel, milestone birthdays, life journeys, retirement. It is a labor of love on my part when I design the pages for a particular altered book.
